Head of Production at PRETTYBIRD, Earl McDaniel brings with him more than 20 years of commercial experience. He arrived in Los Angeles in 1995, after concluding his fine art and film studies at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. Soon thereafter, he was hired at Propaganda Films, where he started his commercial career and earned his entertainment chops under Hollywood directing legends David Fincher, Michael Bay, and Antoine Fuqua.
With such remarkable mentors, it is no surprise that McDaniel went on to helm the award-winning short dance documentary, “Merde!,” the 2011 film which chronicles the work of a Bollywood dance company, earning Best Directing, Concept, and Short Documentary at the LA New Wave International Film Festival, as well as Best Short Documentary at the Asian Film Festival.
At PRETTYBIRD, McDaniel oversees international and domestic productions, hires and manages production teams, vendors and production services on all aspects of projects, from bidding through post-production. Throughout his career, McDaniel has worked on many award winning campaigns that include GEICO, Nike, Levis, Microsoft and Heineken as well as branded content for TNT, Hot Wheels, Marlboro, National Geographic, Harman Kardon and Pennzoil.
Outside the world of PRETTYBIRD, Earl’s obsessions include 80’s punk, independent films, skateboarding and surfing.
