Mia Powell is Head of New Business at PRETTYBIRD UK, a cross platform, creative production company providing distinct visionary work for agencies and brands across the ever evolving media landscape.
Mia began her career as a Junior Brand Consultant for Ruby Pseudo before moving into the commercial arena through an access scheme at advertising agency iris Worldwide where she worked as an Account Executive. Her next move was to MullenLowe London as the Marketing and New Business Executive where she worked on winning projects for a number of high profile clients including Western Union and Netflix.
Since joining the nest, Mia has helped to reshape the UK roster, signing and developing exciting new talent and creating category defining work for brands such as H&M, Nike, adidas, Pride in London, The Glenlivet, and Vogue. Mia utilises her strategic and creative capabilities to understand clients’ needs and turn that into powerful communications that deliver results. Her background in Forensic Science also lends itself to analysing and observing the industry to help create more compelling advertising campaigns with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
A hands on team player and cheerleader for underrepresented voices, Mia is also an enthusiastic mentor, working with initiatives like: D&AD, Brixton Finishing School, Iconic Steps and ELAM to help nurture a more inclusive industry. Beyond this Mia has also curated, moderated and spoke on panel discussions to help bring focus to marginalised voices at many events including: Advertising Week Europe, Advertising Week New York, The Shiny Awards and LBB.
In 2020 Mia was named one of the Pitch 100 Superwomen and Google Rare Graduate. In 2019 Mia sat on the Advertising Week Europe Under 30 Board.
