Eloise is a London born Queer, British- Jamaican/Grenadian filmmaker who adopts an interdisciplinary approach to telling complex stories that foreground marginalized perspectives within mainstream and popular culture. Her curiosity probes at institutional and cultural turning-points to question the loop-holes of progress. “I work to ask: who falls through or who flourishes, in the tension between the old and new?”
As a former commissioner and Global Executive Producer at VICE & i-D she led a multi-award-winning international documentary team. She has directed commercial projects for Louis Vuitton, Nike and Twitter. In addition her work has been exhibited at The ICA, Tate Britain, V&A, and MoAD.
Her nuanced voice draws on over 15 years of journalism and documentary insights working across Broadcast, commercial and digital media for: BBC, Channel4, ITV, MTV, A&E, and Al Jazeera English. Her previous titles, as a director and/or producer, include: THE GATHERINGS (Grierson nominated), KIDS BEHIND BARS (ITV), PINS AND NEEDLES (Broadcast Award nominated for Best Popular Factual 2017), GURLS TALK (Lovie Awards – best lifestyle documentary) and  AMY & ME : DIONNE BROMFIELD’S STORY (MTV and Paramount + Amazon)

King is a recipient a Firelight Media fellowship, Logan Non-fiction fellowship, and a Field of Vision and Perspective and Bertha Grantee (2020, 2021,2022, 2023).  In addition to being selected or the Film & TV Charity John Brabourne Award, King is a Sheffield Doc Fest “Future Producer” and Edinburgh T V F e s t i v a l  ‘O n e s To Wa t c h’ alumna and was recognized for ‘ O u t s t a n d i n g A c h i e v e m e n t ’ i n Campaign and Creative Equals’ list of future female leaders defining creativity. In 2022, Eloise was one 8 directors selected for the inaugural Netflix Non-fiction Fellowship, internationally.

‘YOUTS’ King’s debut narrative feature is in development and was selected for BFI LFF Network.
‘Untitled Scholars’ Eloise’ debut feature documentary, made with the support of Film4, BFI and co-produced by Sir Steve McQueen’s company Lammas Park – is due to be released in 2024.
