Justin Chon is an American writer, director, and actor.

As a filmmaker, Chon burst onto the scene with his film Gook, which he wrote, directed, and starred in. The film won the NEXT Audience Award at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, and Chon was awarded the Kiehl’s Someone to Watch Award at the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards. His 2019 film, Ms. Purple, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. Dramatic Competition and was released by Oscilloscope Laboratories.

He directed, wrote, produced, and starred in Blue Bayou, a poignant family drama that tells the moving and timely story of a uniquely American family fighting for their future. The film was an official selection of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the festival’s Un Certain Regard Award. It was released by Focus Features in the Fall of 2021.

Chon returned to Sundance in 2023 with his film Jamojaya, which he wrote and directed. The film has been praised for its strong performances and for navigating complicated family dynamics. On the series side, Justin directed four episodes of the Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ series, Pachinko. He also served as the series Executive Producer.

As an actor, Chon is known worldwide for playing Eric Yorkie in all five installments of the Twilight franchise.
