About

Lauren Dunn is a visual storyteller who has an appreciation for the past and a bold appetite for the future. Growing up in Los Angeles with an antique dealer mother who was passionate about history and the arts, Dunn developed her love of film. As an only child, Dunn studied the world around her, constantly writing and shooting amateur photography. Her love of film and art collided upon her entry at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts where she immediately began directing and producing music videos. While Dunn was hustling for video jobs, she also honed in on her passion for documenting artists in both personal, raw behind-the-scenes and high concept music videos, carving out her unique style of work.

Dunn has gone on to photograph, direct, and creative direct some of the biggest and most culturally relevant artists in the world including Megan Thee Stallion, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Kali Uchis, Coldplay, 070 Shake, Dove Cameron, Avril Lavigne, and more.

In 2023, her short film/music video hybrid for Dove Cameron’s “Breakfast”, which flips the script on gender roles in a post-Roe world, won “Video For Good” at the MTV Music Video Awards. She previously received an MTV VMA nomination for her music video “Taking Me Back” with Jack White. In 2021, Dunn directed a short documentary for Amazon Music titled “A Lady Like That” which tells the story of 4x Grammy nominee Ingrid Andress’ road to finding her voice as a female artist on the rise in country music. Together, their music video for Ingrid’s hit single “Lady Like” was nominated for Video of the Year at the CMT awards. That same year, Porsche named Lauren a Next Gen Leader in directing.

Her commercial work is also robust, and includes clients such as Bose, JBL, Amazon, Apple Music, Nike, Vevo, and Doritos among others. In early 2024, she directed the campaign for Hotels.com x NBA which saw athletes including Nikola Jokic and Jimmy Butler share their tips for the perfect vacation. Dunn continues to receive accolades for her advertising work, including a Webby nomination for her branded content series for Doritos and an OMMA award for her branded series for Tracfone.
