Stacy’s Rise Project “Rise”

Known for her heartfelt humor and engaging voice, filmmaker Nisha Ganatra is a Golden Globe winner and an Emmy-nominated director and producer seamlessly working in commercials, television, and film. Nisha’s previous feature film credits include The High Note for Working Title and Focus Features and Late Night which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019 and was sold to Amazon in a record-breaking deal, garnering the highest streaming numbers of the year. Nisha’s acclaimed debut feature, Chutney Popcorn, won Audience Awards at multiple festivals including the Berlin International Film Festival, Newport Film Festival, and Outfest Los Angeles.

On the TV side, in addition to her award-winning work as a Director/Producer on Amazon’s Transparent, Nisha has sold a comedy pilot to NBC with Amy Poehler producing, was Co-Executive Producer/Director for Better Things with Pamela Adlon, and created Code Academy for the ITVS/PBS series Futurestates. Nisha has also directed episodes of Girls, Dear White People, Future Man, Mr. Robot, Shameless, Married, Brooklyn 9-9, Last Man on Earth, Love, Black Monday, and the Sex & The City reboot And Just Like That.

Her first brand work was a 7-spot campaign for Google Home featuring comedy heavyweights Amy Poehler, Tiffany Haddish, Amy Sedaris, Chelsea Peretti, and Maya Rudolph. She has also directed work for Plan B inspired by her fierce advocacy for Planned Parenthood. Perhaps most notably, Nisha drew worldwide attention with her award-winning campaign, Womb Stories, which earned her many accolades, including the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Film Craft: Directing, The One Show’s distinguished honor of Best in Show and #1 Director Globally, and The One Club for Creativity’s title of #1 Director. Nisha was also listed in the Cannes Lions’ Creativity Report as the #1 Director of the Festival. Additional credits include the short film Rise for Stacy’s Pita Chips, which premiered at Sundance in the Brand Storytelling section in 2023.
