First-generation college graduate and Cleveland, Ohio native Steven Caple Jr. has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after filmmakers. Most recently, he directed TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS, which was released on June 9, 2023 by Paramount Pictures. Notably, Caple Jr. helmed CREED II starring Michael B. MGM released the feature in November 2018 and the film has grossed over $200 million at the worldwide box office to date.
Upcoming, Caple Jr. is set to direct THIEVES’ GAMBIT for Lionsgate and is also set to direct and produce BY ALL, written by Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier and also produced by Legendary, Gotham Group and Jennifer Levine. In what has been described as “Collateral” meets “The Warriors” the project is set to be released by Warner Bros and follows a world without the Los Angeles Police Department and the aftermath that ensues.
His debut feature film THE LAND premiered at Sundance 2016. Produced by Macro Ventures, Priority Pictures and Mass Appeal (Nas), the film was picked up by IFC Films and released theatrically in summer 2016.
