Lacey Duke is an Emmy-nominated director whose work spans television, commercials, music videos, and live performance. Originally from Toronto, she has developed a distinct voice that pairs bold visual worlds with deeply human performances. She’s known for her character-driven storytelling and the ability to balance emotional depth and cultural nuance across mediums.
Her television credits include HBO’s Insecure and A Black Lady Sketch Show, and OWN’s Queen Sugar. Beyond television, Duke has collaborated with artists like Usher, Janelle Monáe, H.E.R., Summer Walker, Cardi B, and SZA, directing music videos and developing creative for intimate live performances and stadium-scale productions. In 2019, she received the Prism Prize Special Achievement Award for her contribution to music video art.
Alongside her work in television and music, Lacey has directed commercials for Belvedere, Samsung, and CoverGirl, as well as Netflix’s Emmy-nominated A Great Day in Hollywood, featuring Ava DuVernay, Lena Waithe, Spike Lee, and an ensemble of groundbreaking Black artists and filmmakers.
